Dominic Runfola served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1998 to 2006, including a deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2004–2005. He earned the Naval Parachutist Insignia (Gold Wings) and multiple military decorations, including the Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, and Iraq Campaign Medal, among others.
